RO Purifier Care Tips

  • Schedule a professional service every 6–12 months to replace filters and check membrane performance.
  • The RO membrane typically lasts 2–3 years — replace it when output TDS rises significantly.
  • Flush the purifier for 2–3 minutes after a long period of non-use before drinking the water.
  • Check the waste water ratio — a healthy RO wastes about 3 litres per 1 litre purified.
  • Keep the area around the purifier dry to prevent mould growth and electrical hazards.
  • If the water tastes or smells unusual, stop using it and call a technician immediately.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common RO service questions answered.

How often should I service my RO water purifier?
We recommend a full service every 6–12 months, including filter replacement. The RO membrane typically lasts 2–3 years depending on water quality and usage.
Why is my RO water tasting bad after a service?
New filters sometimes release a slight taste for the first 1–2 days. Flush the system by discarding the first 2–3 tanks of water. If it persists, call us — we'll check it at no extra charge.
My RO is wasting too much water. Is that normal?
A healthy RO system wastes 3 litres for every 1 litre purified. If it's wasting significantly more, the membrane or reject ratio valve may need replacement.
Do you provide genuine filter cartridges?
Yes, we use only genuine, certified filter cartridges and membranes compatible with your specific purifier model and brand.
My purifier is making a loud noise. What could it be?
Loud noise is usually caused by a failing booster pump or air trapped in the system. Our technician will diagnose and fix it during the service visit.
What is TDS and what should it be in purified water?
TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) measures the concentration of dissolved substances in water. For drinking water, a TDS of 50–150 ppm is generally considered ideal. We test this during every service visit.
